Preparing a New Year Resolution

Posted by Andrew Bryant, CSP, PCC

timeSelf Leadership is all about getting ideas into action and New Year is a time when many choose to make a commitment to start a new behaviour or stop an old habit.

In 2009 I will be writing on this blog about how to turn thoughts into actions and actions into results, so what I want to know from YOU is…

What are your resolutions for 2009?

Please respond by clicking on comments below… thanks, Andrew :)

To be a better me in every aspect by the end of 2009 would be the best summary of my new year resolutions.

I would prefer to stand back and think about the whole idea of ‘a new years’ resolution’. Year in and year out I have ‘resolutions’ made or re-made and yet most of the time it went ‘missing’ in one of the months. It made me wonder whether ‘resolution(s)’ is too general, too broad despite the specific ‘theme’ e.g. quit smoking, make $1mil etc. This 2009 I will give myself a focal point, a direction. Something I can visualise myself doing for the next 12 months..

The following resolutions are quantifiable and time bound, making them more practicable and achievable, I believe:
    1. Reduce Smoking by increasing the time gap between cigarettes
    2. Wake at 06:00hrs and Start Work at 09:00hrs
    3. Reduce weight to 70kgs
    A sparkling 2009 to all.
