I REALLY like how you connected her statement with the information you put out in this post. Honestly, as I was reading it, I was wondering how you were going to make a transition into a valid point. You're obviously on top of your stuff! Though I am familiar with Self Determination, I never really looked at it that way (in terms of determining my own future). It really makes me appreciate the fact that I have the right to do so. I am currently posting this from Iraq, I am a US soldier. That just adds so much more meaning to this post for me.
