<p>A resume is usually the first impression that you make with a prospective employer. It gives you the opportunity to gain their interest and hold their attention by displaying your skills and experience before them.<span id="more-1119"></span></p>
<p>Being in the recruitment business, we come across all kinds of resumes with fancy presentations, fonts, language, etc. A resume is a professional document and should be treated as such. Your qualifications should speak for you and not your degree of innovation in presentation.  Here are some guidelines on how to create a resume that works for you.</p>
<h3><strong>Cover letter </strong></h3>
<p>A cover letter is a very important part of your job application. While responding to a specific job advertisement, treat the cover letter as a value addition to your resume and not just any general letter of introduction. The letter should be concise with crisp sentences giving a brief introduction about yourself and your strengths.</p>
<h3><strong>Determine the objective of your job search </strong></h3>
<p>With a clear idea of what you want to achieve from your resume, the information that you want to include will flow easily. If you don’t have an objective to focus on, your resume will not be structured and easy to read.</p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<h3><strong>Your resume is a marketing tool</strong></h3>
<p>Imagine yourself as a product and your prospective employers as customers. Use your resume to highlight your uniqueness.</p>
<h3><strong>Aim for an interview, not the job</strong></h3>
<p>A good resume should get you an interview. So you don’t need to go into great detail about each accomplishment. Save that for the interview. The objective of a resume is to create enough interest for the prospective employer to want to meet you.</p>
<p>A resume should always be reviewed at regular intervals. Alter the format of your resume if a particular job role demands certain skills to be highlighted. And finally, here are some tips to keep in mind.</p>
<h3><strong>Top 10 resume tips </strong></h3>
<ol>
<li>Keep      your audience in mind when you write your resume.</li>
<li>Use      simple but effective language to convey your abilities.</li>
<li>Highlight      achievements by using bulleted points. Avoid long sentences or paragraphs.</li>
<li>Use      figures and statistics to quantify your achievements, especially if you are      applying for a sales related role.</li>
<li>Highlight      the positives. Don’t be shy about showing off your strengths.</li>
<li>Use      relevant action buzzwords that will grab the attention of the reader.</li>
<li>Be      honest about what you convey.  Never      lie on your resume.</li>
<li>Have      someone else review your resume for grammatical or typing errors.</li>
<li>Limit      your resume’s length to not more than 2 &#8211; max 3 pages.</li>
</ol>
<p>10.In case of emailing your resume, recheck how the file attachment will be received.  Use the most commonly used software programs for example a PDF or Word file.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-687" title="Creating a New Vision" src="http://selfleadership.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/vision.jpg" alt="Creating a New Vision" width="190" height="164" />Every executive knows that they must have a <em><strong>vision </strong></em>and <em><strong>mission </strong></em>statement but in times of crisis these important documents can be forgotten.</p>
<p>It is a bit like if you were in a boat and have set your course, but the boat springs a leak and you spend your whole time bailing water and have no time to steer.</p>
<p>William Bridges created a model of <a href="http://www.selfleadership.com/services/leadership_development/mastering_change_and_transition/">change and transition</a> that is highly relevant in today’s financial readjustment. <span id="more-680"></span>When the collapse of Lehman Brothers started the domino effect of the global crisis, many of us would have experienced first <em><strong>shock</strong></em>, then <em><strong>denial</strong></em>, <em><strong>anger </strong></em>and <em><strong>fear</strong></em>. If you lost money or a job you might then experience grief, frustration, confusion, stress and loss of control.</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-688" title="Transition" src="http://selfleadership.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/transition1.jpg" alt="Transition" width="499" height="337" /></p>
<p>As an <a href="http://www.selfleadership.com/services/executive_coaching/">executive coach</a> and <a href="http://www.selfleadership.com/services/leadership_development/">leadership consultant</a> I have often witnessed this spiraling down into <em><strong>paralysis </strong></em>that Bridges calls the ‘neutral zone’. Symptoms of the neutral zone include <em><strong>ambiguity</strong></em>, <em><strong>anxiety </strong></em>and the <em><strong>absence of motivation</strong></em>. The cure for this paralysis is a new vision of what is possible.</p>
<p><em><strong>Einstein </strong></em>said that, “A problem cannot be solved with the same level of thinking that created the problem.” When in the neutral zone, we are in a dark place and our ability to <em><strong>think optimistically</strong></em> and see possibilities is severely limited. What is required is a little magic, the magic of imagination. All of human achievement started with imagination, from running a mile in under 4 minutes, to imagining what it would be like on the top of Mount Everest to imagining walking on the surface of the moon.</p>
<p><em><strong>A vision</strong></em> will inspire, motivate and engender <a href="http://www.selfleadership.com/services/leadership_development/creativity_and_innovation/">creativity </a>and it starts with using imagination to travel to the future when things will be better. The Executive who asks him/herself, <em><strong>“What is possible?” “What will we be doing when things are better?” </strong></em>To do achieve this we must take time to stop bailing the water in the boat and look to the shore. Most executives find this extremely difficult as they leave themselves little or no time to stop, step back and <a href="http://www.selfleadership.com/services/leadership_development/critical_skills_for_senior_managers/">think strategically.</a></p>
<p>With a new vision of where you are going, you and your people will become more <em><strong>optimistic</strong></em>, think creatively and start <em><strong>planning </strong></em>actions that will move you towards success.</p>
<p>It was no surprise that <em><strong>Barack Obama</strong></em> beat John McCain; Dr Martin Seligman in his book &#8216;Learned Optimism&#8217; talks about his analysis of US elections based on the number of positive or optimistic comments made by the candidates. Obama clearly offered a more optimistic view of the future and thus captured the popular vote.</p>
<p>Obama is being called a <a href="http://selfleadership.com/blog/topic/leadership/transformational-leadership/">transformational leader</a> because he:</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">1. Created a <em><strong>vision </strong></em>that inspired the American voters (and the world) to believe that there were new possibilities.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">2. Stimulates <em><strong>people </strong></em>to think, to re-examine their ideas and find creative alternatives. Such an environment breeds imagination and innovation.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">3. Treats people as individuals making people feel <em><strong>valued </strong></em>and encouraging them to contribute. He recognizes that people have unique talents, strengths and weakness and allowing for these differences without judgment.</p>
<p>The <em><strong>transformational leader</strong></em> must have what I like to call &#8216;realistic optimism&#8217; which is a practical and pragmatic approach that is ideally suited to the current climate. Realistic optimism is the mindset that we can make the best of any circumstance; it is the acceptance that bad things do happen but with a healthy self-esteem and the confidence in our abilities we can overcome adversity, learn from the situation and be even better for the experience.</p>
<p>Optimism without<em><strong> right actions</strong></em> and following <em><strong>sound principles</strong></em> will not be enough. Lehman Brothers failed because of over-optimism and the senior management not being in alignment with their own company&#8217;s vision and values.</p>
<p>In the current climate it is tempting to focus on immediate need and make tactical rather than <em><strong>strategic decisions</strong></em>; I urge you to step back for a moment, get in touch with your personal or company vision and ask yourself, &#8220;<em><strong>Is this decision the right one for the long term?</strong></em>&#8221;</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Has it ever happened to you that you put off doing a difficult task? Or that you postponed taking an important decision until you would feel more prepared to take it?</p>
<p>Well, if the answer is yes to any of the two questions, you have probably fallen in the same trap so many people fall every day…the trap of <strong>Procrastination</strong>!<span id="more-585"></span></p>
<p>But how bad is it to procrastinate anyways?</p>
<p>Well, The Procrastination Research Group (so it even has its own research group!) made a survey on 2,700 individuals and asked them how much negative impact does procrastination have on their happiness? 46% said that very much and 18% said that an extreme negative effect.</p>
<p>Pretty bad, don’t you think?</p>

<p>So let’s explore what are the most common reasons of procrastination:</p>
<ul>
<li> <strong>Care Too Much About What Others Think</strong></li>
</ul>
<p>It happens that sometimes you want to impress others so much that when given a task you feel so much pressure that it delays your work.</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Striving For The Perfect</strong></li>
</ul>
<p>It sounds weird, but perfectionism can be what causes procrastination. You may want to strive for perfectionism so much that you feel disheartened even before you begin. This is because a goal that seems unachievable (and who can ever be perfect, anyway?) can be demoralizing.</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Doing Things Totally New To You</strong></li>
</ul>
<p>You need to embark on a totally new project and you have no idea at all on how to tackle it. The first reaction is to procrastinate. The uncertainty of the result of this task causes you to delay commencing the project.</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>The Task Isn’t Meaningful And Motivating</strong></li>
</ul>
<p>This is another main reason what causes procrastination. The task at hand isn’t motivating to you, as it does not match your aspiration. It is not meaningful to you and therefore you drag your feet in completing the task.</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>The Lack Of Confidence</strong></li>
</ul>
<p>Another common cause of procrastination is the lack of confidence in completing a task. It can be real that you lack the skills but sometimes it may be a perception that you lack the skill. Because of this you may totally avoid completing the task.</p>
<p>OK, but enough with the causes, here are <em><strong>seven solutions</strong></em>:</p>
<ol>
<li><strong>Give up being Perfect!</strong> (Nobody is and nobody will ever be!) It is much better to do a task 80% good, rather than wait until you are 100% satisfied and never actually manage to deliver it.</li>
<li> Just as most people can&#8217;t eat a whole birthday cake in one bite, some <strong><em>jobs cannot be done all at once</em></strong>.  Some people come to realize that it is harder to put something off if they <strong><em>slice a job up into manageable pieces</em></strong> and do the task piece by piece, little by little.  This might mean breaking down the time required to-do a task into smaller chunks that are spaced over several days or weeks.  Some people don&#8217;t like large doses of something distasteful.  They find that smaller doses spaced over time makes things easier to do and less procrastinatable.</li>
<li>Another way some people have reduced procrastination is to <strong><em>begin with an easy, an enjoyable, or the least distasteful piece of a job to get started.</em></strong></li>
<li>Many ex-procrastinators have realized that <strong><em>working with someone else</em></strong> makes it less likely that they will put something off.  Perhaps this would work for you.</li>
<li>It could be that you will come to realize that <em><strong>making a commitment to someone</strong></em> or<em><strong> setting a deadline for completing a task</strong></em> is one way to make procrastination more difficult.  It is known that for many people, setting a goal results in motivation.  For this to work, ex-procrastinators have found that the goal must be something they want to achieve.</li>
<li>Maybe you will discover that doing a job <strong><em>in the least distracting environment</em></strong> makes putting off work a little harder.  For many college students, homes, dorm rooms, or apartments have many distractions and potential distractions.  Perhaps you will find a place like the library to study where it is quiet and is going to stay quiet until you are ready to leave.</li>
<li>Like many non-procrastinators, you may find it enjoyable to <strong><em>reward yourself</em></strong> for doing a part of a job and for completing a task.  Some examples of rewards are treating yourself to some delicious fruits, going to a movie, visiting with friends, or just doing something that you enjoy.</li>

<p>Confidence is a key success factor for modern <strong><em>managers</em></strong> and <strong><em>leaders</em></strong> and yet many lack confidence in the following areas:</p>
<ol>
<li><em><strong>Managing downwards</strong></em> when subordinates have higher qualifications or are qualified in a different discipline</li>
<li> <strong><em>Influencing peers</em></strong> or external stakeholder when there is no direct authority</li>
<li> <strong><em>Managing upwards</em></strong> even in a matrix organisation<span id="more-511"></span></li>
</ol>
<p>I had two meetings in Singapore this week where <strong><em>Senior Leaders</em></strong> highlighted a need for increased confidence in the above areas, but I don’t think this issue is just related to Singapore.</p>
<p>With all three scenarios the key to confidence is <strong><em>personal power</em></strong>. Personal Power is like <strong><em>self leadership</em></strong>, it comes from knowing who you are and what’s important and exercising <a title="Leadership Choices" href="http://selfleadership.com/blog/topic/leadership/leadership-choices/" target="_blank">the right to choose</a>.</p>
<p>When managing downwards, managers need to remember Henry Ford who said, “The generalist will always employ the specialist.” The manager doesn’t need to know everything about everyone’s discipline they need to know <strong><em>how to engage smart</em></strong> <em><strong>people </strong></em>to get the job done. Highly specialised people often miss the big picture and don’t connect outside of their discipline. The good leader knows a bit about a lot of different things and can therefore use the best skills or combination of skills within the team to get the job done.</p>
<p>Confidence to influence laterally comes from <strong><em>believing</em></strong> that your idea is a good one and knowing how to <em><strong>communicate</strong></em> the benefits of this idea or action to the other parties.  In an age of social networking we should feel confident to <strong><em>socialise our ideas</em></strong>, after all, it is not the best ideas that get adopted but the best supported ideas.</p>
<p>To confidently and successfully manage upwards requires the manager or <em><strong>emerging leader</strong></em> to perceive their superior as a colleague rather than a boss. I don’t mean do away with respect or be over-familiar, but to realise that they are both subservient to the vision of the business/company. Just like influencing laterally, ideas that are <em><strong>framed</strong></em> as beneficial to the business will be well received.</p>
<p>When we succeed a something it builds confidence but we must have the confidence to <em><strong>attempt before we can succeed</strong></em>. If you require confidence to attempt something for the first time, remember <strong>P</strong>rior <strong>P</strong>lanning <strong>P</strong>revents <strong>P</strong>oor <strong>P</strong>erformance – so prepare and then as Nike says, “<strong>Just Do It</strong>!”</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-478" title="tennis" src="http://selfleadership.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/tennis.jpg" alt="tennis" width="200" height="133" />A key principle of <em><strong>self leadership</strong></em> is the ability to notice and then respond effectively to <strong>feedback</strong>.</p>
<p>As I write this blog post I am aware of the pain in my wrist from playing tennis. I have only just started to play tennis; I used to play squash and so I am used to flicking my wrist to get the shot. Flicking your wrist in tennis is not the correct technique and doesn’t deliver the required result; in fact, the result is pain. Now I can focus on the pain or I can <em><strong>focus </strong></em>on the <em><strong>message </strong></em>it is giving me – “correct your grip.”<span id="more-475"></span></p>
<p>Life is like a game of tennis (not a box of chocolates, sorry Forest Gump), if you don’t have the right technique you will get various forms of feedback (<em><strong>pain </strong></em>being the most obvious). Our current financial crisis is extremely painful, because we did not head the <em><strong>warning signs</strong></em> of incorrect technique in the use of credit. The thing about pain is that you can ignore it for a while and even mask it with painkillers but eventually if you don’t change the way you do things – the pain comes back and worse.</p>
<p>The <em><strong>self leadership principle</strong></em> of responding to <em><strong>feedback </strong></em>applies in every aspect of our lives. We have a <em><strong>choice</strong></em>, notice and respond or live for a while in denial and pay the price later. Here are some examples:</p>
<p>•    The remaining balance on your <em><strong>credit </strong></em>card is going up each month – get another credit card or adjust spending?<br />
•    Your <em><strong>weight </strong></em>is going up and your clothes don’t fit – buy new clothes or adjust your exercise and eating?<br />
•    You argue with your <em><strong>partner</strong></em>, followed by long silences – get a new partner or sit down and openly discuss issues?<br />
•    Your <em><strong>job </strong></em>seems to be taking you nowhere – bitch and moan or examine your skills and contribution to the business?</p>
<p>Now these examples may seem rather obvious but I chose them to illustrate the principle – our<em><strong> actions have reactions </strong></em>and if we notice these reactions (feedback) we can adjust our actions to move more effectively towards our goals.</p>
<p>As a <a href="http://selfleadership.com/blog/topic/leadership/what-is-coaching/">coach </a>I often find myself facilitating my clients to notice feedback that they have previously been blind to. The coaching <em><strong>question </strong></em>to ask yourself is, “Are my actions getting the results I want?” and if the answer is No, then, “What actions do I need to get the results I want?”</p>
<p>My personal mantra is, &#8220;Blessed are the flexible for they shall not get bent out of shape!&#8221; Yes feedback can be painful but if you have the flexibility to make changes you will improve.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-294" title="Personal Brand" src="http://selfleadership.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/brand-150x150.jpg" alt="Personal Brand" width="150" height="150" /> We all know that a brand is a customer experience represented by a collection of images and ideas; what might be less obvious is that each time somebody meets you they unconsciously create images and ideas about you which operates as a ‘your unique brand’. Companies spend large amounts of money to develop a brand because a positive brand influences how consumers will respond to their product.</p>
<p>As a professional or entrepreneur our success will be dependent on self leadership and our ability to influence others. Aristotle (384-322 BCE) taught that to influence requires ethos, which gives us the English word ethic and means character. Our ethos is like a brand, the symbolic embodiment of all the information connected to a company, product or service.</p>
<p>Some people seem to naturally exude their ethos as a personal power that causes people to trust and be influenced by them; but can this personal branding be cultivated or developed? Most certainly yes! And in this article I will share some of the key factors in developing your brand of personal power and professional influence.</p>
<p>When we influence, we alter/affect someone else’s perceptions, views, beliefs, attitudes, decisions thus alter their actions. So the first question to ask yourself is, “do I have permission to influence others?” If you are not sure of your answer consider this – because each person will unconsciously create images and ideas about you, you are already influencing their perception! The question should now be. “How do I want to influence others and what brand do I want to project?”</p>
<p>Research has shown that people are positively influenced by people who are: trustworthy (honest), forward looking, confident, competent and inspiring. Each of these traits can be developed an enhanced and the payoff is increased personal power and influence.</p>
<p>“Honest is the best policy” is a maxim that holds true for developing your brand and another is “let your yes be yes and your no be no”. By living a creed of keeping your word and following through on your actions you transmit a very strong message that you are a person to be trusted and trust is like money in the bank when it comes to relationships.</p>
<p>Being forward looking is a quality of influence and leadership, it is attractive because it sends a message that you are a person of vision and action and can get things done rather than dwell on problems. Forward looking people are more optimistic and this creates a self fulfilling prophesy as people are influenced by your ideas.</p>
<p>Confidence and competence are linked in an interesting way. Confidence without competence is foolhardy but it is not possible to become competent without as certain level of confidence. Confidence says,”I have the power to think and feel and speak and act – therefore I can learn anything and I can do anything I put my mind to.” With this kind of self talk you will radiate the confidence of a ‘can do’ person.</p>
<p>To be inspiring means to put ‘spirit’ into your words and actions. Aristotle called this pathos (passion) and listed this as the second quality of influence. Without passion your words and deeds have little or no influence on others, but with passion you become energised like an electromagnet and attract others to your plans and ideas.</p>
<p>Aristotle’s third quality of influence, he called logos which gives us the word logic. We persuade people with our knowledge and thinking; this is known as ‘expertise power’. So if you access your personal power and know your ‘stuff’ you will already be creating a brand in the mind of those around you.</p>
<p>After personal power, and expertise power comes connection power. Connection power comes from who you are connected and associated with. Companies understand this when they link think their brand to celebrities. Tag Heuer has Tiger Woods sporting their watch sending the message that if it is good enough for the world’s best golfer it is good enough for me. You can increase you influence power by connecting with people of influence, take advice from them and be seen with them. A word of caution here – always do a check for integrity, because if there is strong association in the mind of your clients between you and a person of questionable ethics, you will also be tainted.</p>
<p>So in summary,</p>
<ol>
<li>Be confident</li>
<li>Know your stuff</li>
<li>Add value to others</li>
<li>Talk and walk with Passion about what you believe in.</li>
</ol>
<p>You are a brand so make the most of it. Look yourself in the mirror and ask yourself, “What do I want to project?” then go and do just that.</p>

<p>How often do you hear someone say, &#8220;<strong><em>I love my job</em></strong>?&#8221;</p>
<p>Our <a href="http://www.selfleadership.com/services/executive_coaching/career_and_transition_coaching/">career coach</a>, <a href="http://www.selfleadership.com/about/team/#jass">Jass Malaney</a> says, this is rare.</p>
<p>Conversations at work are more likely to be along the lines of,<em><strong> &#8220;Thank God it&#8217;s Friday&#8221; </strong></em>or &#8220;When my lottery numbers come up I&#8217;m out of here&#8221;.</p>
<p>Confucius said,<em> &#8220;Man who loves what he does, never does a day&#8217;s work in his life&#8221;.</em></p>
<p>Is it possible to love your Job? Do you know someone who does?<span id="more-247"></span></p>
<p>People who love their jobs rather than just turning up for the pay check, are <em><strong>engaged </strong></em>by it and gain <strong><em>meaning </em></strong>from it.</p>
<p>Research by the Gallup Organisation has identified that employees need the following to feel engaged by their work:</p>
<ul>
<li><em><strong>Role clarity</strong></em>: Employees know what is expected of them at work.</li>
<li><em><strong>Talent utilisation: </strong></em>Workers have opportunities to use their talents in their roles every day.</li>
<li><em><strong>Recognition:</strong></em> Employees receive recognition regularly and feel cared for.</li>
<li><em><strong>Communication: </strong></em>Workers receive ongoing feedback on their performance and have regularly scheduled progress discussions.</li>
<li><em><strong>Bonding:</strong></em> Employees have strong bonds with their coworkers.</li>
<li><em><strong>Development: </strong></em>Employees have opportunities to learn and grow.</li>
</ul>
<p>You might consider these factors to be the responsibility of your manager or your organisation to provide. It is true that organisations that value their employees and managers who understand people leadership will have these factors in mind; however you do have a<em><strong> <a href="http://selfleadership.com/blog/topic/leadership/what-is-self-leadership/">self leadership</a></strong></em> responsibility for your own engagement.</p>
<p>Psychologist, Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi studied thousands of people and discovered that we bounce between two extremes: during much of the day we live filled with the <strong><em>anxiety and pressures</em></strong> of our work and obligations, while during our leisure moments, we tend to live in <em><strong>passive boredom</strong></em>. The key to happiness is therefore to challenge ourselves with tasks requiring a high degree of skill and commitment and to become fully <em><strong>engaged </strong></em>in these activities.</p>
<p>When we are fully engaged in an activity we enter into a state of <strong><em>&#8216;flow&#8217;</em></strong>, a state where time goes away and the task seems effortless. We tend to experience such &#8216;flow&#8217; moments when playing a sport or engaged in a hobby. Imagine skiing down a mountain with all of your attention focused on making the turns, you are unlikely at this moment to be worrying about trivial issues. Another aspect of a flow moment is that feedback is immediate; the mountain climber knows he or she is one step closer to the goal.<br />
<em><strong><br />
So how do you create more flow moments in your job?</strong></em></p>
<ol>
<li>Constantly find challenges that will stretch your skill level, especially if it requires learning something new.</li>
<li>Set goals and request feedback that lets you know how you are doing in the short rather than long-term.</li>
<li>Find meaning in what you do</li>
</ol>
<p><strong>Meaning</strong><br />
A craftsman knows why he does what he does. The industrial revolution, with its soulless assembly lines, robbed many workers with the sense of meaning for what they do. Victor Frankl, who survived a Nazi concentration camp, suggested that we can stand any <strong>&#8220;<em>what&#8221;</em></strong> if we have a big enough <em><strong>&#8220;why&#8221;</strong></em>. Find the meaning in what you do; what does your work mean to you? To others? To the world?</p>
<p>For example a teacher might find meaning in that they get to share what they have learned and the more they teach the more they know about the subject. Their teaching impacts a generation of students and those students will change the world, even if only a little bit at a time.</p>
<p>To find meaning at work, ask yourself the following questions:</p>
<ol>
<li>What does this work mean to me?</li>
<li>What does it mean to my clients, customers?</li>
<li>What does this work mean in the context of my life?</li>
<li>How can I give this work more meaning?</li>
</ol>
<p>When we combine meaning with our actions we become self-actualised, our life has purpose and <em><strong>passion </strong></em>and we can truly love our work.</p>
<p>Often when we think of someone who loves their job we think that they are engaged in a vocation rather than work (think doctors and nurses).</p>
<p>Aristotle said,<em> &#8220;Where talents and the needs of the world cross, therein lies your vocation.&#8221; </em>Today we might use the word <em><strong>passion </strong></em>rather than vocation.</p>
<p>The needs of the world are not just for excellent health care, but also for excellent customer service, sales people, accountants, technicians, builders etc. etc. etc.</p>
<p>Sometimes we think we will be happiest sitting on a beach doing nothing (passive boredom), but in truth we are happiest when we are doing something useful.</p>
